The message comes at 11 pm. You answer at 9 am.

By then they have booked someone else.

Nights, weekends and holidays are customers you paid to attract and then lost.

  1. Hi! I'm the Oriel front desk. What would you like to book?

One wrong hire can undo what your team has built.

You hire the person you liked most in the interview.

Often that is the one most like you, and the team needed someone who finishes what you start.

Months later the team is doing their job for them, your best people are tired, and you are paying to search again.

Try it · two made-up candidates · role: Operations manager

Who gets the job?

Sam

Brilliant interview. Full of ideas.

  • Why this job“I love building from zero and I already have a hundred ideas for your business.” Enthusiasm, nothing about this job
  • When they don't know“I'm a fast learner and a real people person.” The right words, no example
  • What changed“Managed operations, handled clients, coordinated the team.” Duties only: a process person
  • Work historyThree jobs that ended within weeks Stop factor
  • TypeIdeas and people, low on finishing A second you: the role needs a finisher

Great interview. Wrong person for this role.

Dana

Quiet interview. Short answers.

  • Why this job“I ran bookings for a clinic. I know what a patient needs before the first call.” Knows the work, says why
  • When they don't know“I ask whoever knows, write the answer down and turn it into a checklist.” A real way of working
  • What changed“I rebuilt the booking flow so no request waited overnight. The owner stopped working weekends.” A result: a results person
  • Work historyStayed long enough to finish things No stop factors
  • TypeBuilds the process and closes loose ends What the role needs

Quiet interview. The right person.

How it looks

How I hired an operations director in two days.

A new country, nobody I knew, and a role the whole project depended on. The hiring agent wrote the vacancy, told me where to post it, read every application the moment it came in and told me whom to invite. Everything lives in one tab on the phone.

How it finds the right person

  1. The role, written down

Before the vacancy goes out, it spells out what this person must deliver, who does it well and what rules someone out.

  2. A code phrase in the vacancy

A short phrase near the end. Whoever skimmed straight to the pay line does not get through.

  3. Where to post it

It tells you where your people actually are: which job boards take the link, which local groups delete links and get the short version, and whose rules to read first. You copy the text in one tap and post.

  4. One form

Why this job. What they do when they do not know the answer. What changed because of their work.

  5. Stop factors

Jobs that lasted weeks, a time zone that cannot work, a half-empty form. One of these and the application stops there.

  6. The traffic light

Every answer is read for substance and marked green, yellow or red. It tells a person who brings results from a person who lists duties.

  7. The right type for the role

It checks how the candidate works against what the role needs, so you do not hire a second you.

  8. Your shortlist

Greens go to interview with questions written for each one's weak spots. Borderline ones wait in reserve. Everyone else gets a polite reply.

It sorts. You decide.
