Ask ChatGPT for a good lash studio, a marketing agency or a deck builder in your city. Look at who it names. If your business isn't there, the customers who search this way never get to your site.
Search has two front doors now: the list of results, and the AI answer above it. Both read the same thing, your website. Here is what helps an AI assistant understand your business and recommend it.
1. Write in real text
Prices, services, the area you cover and how the process works should be written on the page in words. Text inside images and PDFs is easy for people to miss and hard for machines to read.
2. Answer the questions customers actually ask
Write a page for each real question: what it costs, how long it takes, what to ask before choosing. AI assistants quote pages that answer one question clearly. This site has a page for every service we offer, each with the questions owners ask us most.
3. Give every service its own page
One page that lists everything you do is hard to quote. A page for each service, with a clear name, a short explanation and answers to common questions, gives search engines and AI something specific to point to.
4. Add structured data
Structured data is a small block of code that tells machines who you are, what you offer and where. Add it for your business, your services and your questions and answers.
5. Add an llms.txt file
An llms.txt file is a short note on your site for language models: what your business does and which pages matter. It takes an hour to write.
6. Measure from day one
Connect Google Search Console and analytics before you change anything, so you can see which pages people find and which searches bring them.
